Week 39-40

Do you already feel some contractions? It may be that you are already have irregular cramps but the real contractions stay out. Many women can suffer from some cramps and contractions, especially in the evening / night. This can sometimes make you sleep a little restless. If necessary, try to take a nap during the day or stay in bed a little longer in the morning to get enough rest. You may also lose your mucus plug during this time. You will then lose a lot of mucus several times or at once. Sometimes mixed with some blood. This is normal and may be a sign that labor is imminent. If you want to breastfeed, you can start with prenatal pumping. You can then pump for five minutes with a manual or electric pump once or twice a day. Usually you have no production yet, but sometimes you can already produce some droplets! Don’t throw this away, but suck it up with a syringe (you can buy it at the pharmacy) and put it in the freezer with the date on it. This is very precious milk, which is called colostrum. These drops of milk are full of good nutrients that your baby will soon be able to use. Don’t worry, you will continue to produce colostrum until your baby is born.
