Back guard arrangement

We often get the question ‘what if there are two births at the same time’? Fortunately, this rarely happens. But we want to have midwifery care non-stop available, so that’s why we have a back-up arrangement in case this does happen. When the midwife on duty is fixed at a delivery and there is a second delivery (or other consultation), we first call each other.

If we are unable to supervise the second delivery with one of the midwives of our practice, we will contact one of the midwives in the area. She will come by as soon as possible. As soon as we have the opportunity to take over the care again, your own trusted midwife will take over again.
