Week 19-20

In this week the 20 week ultrasound is performed. This ultrasound is also offered at our practice by an ultrasound technician who specializes in making this medical ultrasound. Your baby will be checked from head to toe to see if all organs and structures are developing properly. This ultrasound takes a little longer, approximately 30 – 45 minutes. The request is not to bring children under the age of 12 to this ultrasound, because the sonographer must be able to concentrate well. If an abnormality is detected, you will be informed immediately and an appointment will be scheduled at the Erasmus MC. Read more information about the 20-week ultrasound here. If you don’t know yet, it is also possible to view the gender with this ultrasound.

Your baby is the size of a carrot this week. Do you already feel some small pops? Or flutter in your gut? Then you feel your baby move! If your placenta is anterior, you may not feel your baby move yet. That’s okay. Insecure? Visit our heart consultation hour (see our Social Media for the next option).
